More than 18,000 drivers voted for which vehicle is the ‘most reliable used car in the UK’. It was revealed that the Toyota Yaris has been given that title as part of new research by the UKs leading champion and new car buying platform, what car?
The study was based on vehicles between 4 – 10 years old and rated on how reliable their cars had been over the previous year, the problems they occurred and whether the fixes came under warranty. Coming first in 7 out of 10 categories, the Japanese manufacturer dominated their competition. With a 99.1% reliability rating only 9% of Toyota Yaris owners said they had an issue, with little electrical blips being the most common fault. The Lexus CT and Audi Q3 followed the Yaris in 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Steve Huntingford, editor of What Car?, commented: “Reliability is often at the forefront of any vehicle purchase. With nearly eight million used vehicles sold last year, there is huge scope for things to go wrong. By shining a light on the reliability of various makes and models, we hope to help buyers make the right decision when choosing their next used purchase.”
