The Kia Imagine concept was revealed at the Geneva Motor Show, which ran from the 7th-17th March 2019. The vehicle is a full battery-electric four door car, which features 22” wheels, striking design and suicide doors.
Besides revealing the look of the ‘Kia Imagine’ little else has been revealed when it comes to the spec and features of the vehicle. Kia design boss Luc Donckerwolke said “We are creating it as we speak. This is the start of a process, but you will see soon the result”. Unfortunately Luc could not give specifics on when we might see the vehicle available. Kia plans for the vehicle to have an appearance that doesn’t fit into any specific segment though most would say is resembles a coupe-inspired crossover.
“I don’t see anything that’s really not feasible. There are some cost-related issues that have to be validated; it hasn’t been done by designers who don’t understand how to build a car for production.” Donckerwolke added when talking about the design of the Kia Imagine.
In November 2018 Donckerwolke replaced Peter Schreyer as leader of design operations for the entire Hyundai Motor Group. The promotion put him in charge of the styling of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles. Earlier on in his career, Donckerwolke had a hand in shaping Lamborghinis, including the Murcielago.
