Another record breaking week for Kia this week, besides grabbing 2 awards for the outstanding Sportage they also announced April record sales. Rising 8.7% to produce a new monthly record of 37,426, the South Korean brand has beat it’s previous record for sales which was for the first quarter of 2017 delivering 35,996 vehicles.
The Kia Sportage fresh from winning an award earlier this week for ‘Crossover of the Year’ is once again Kia’s best-selling car with 2,585 models being sold in April alone. You can see the rise in popularity with the vehicle when looking back at April 2018’s numbers it sold 2,447 units, so an improvement of 138 cars sold. Coming in second place with 1,391 models sold was the Kia Picanto. 1,049 vehicles were sold for the all-new Ceed for the third slot. After that the Niro and Stonic complete the top 5 for April.
Paul Philpott, President and Chief Executive of Kia Motors (UK) Limited had this to say: “Bucking the downward trend in the new car market shows that customers and our 192 dealers see real benefit in the Kia range. Excellent quality, sensible pricing and an outstanding customer experience are behind our success and we are very grateful to our customers and out dealer network for this on-going enthusiasm for Kia.”
